As a full-time traveler, it's rare that I review a restaurant; I am, however, making an exception for El Tesoro due primarily to an utter lack of cleanliness and attention to the details of food safety. Every worker and owner of a restaurant should be good stewards for the health and safety of their patrons. No exception. The bar top and seats were sticky to the touch, which could be explained in part by the open windows and doors. But, when our food was delivered and we set about to eat, it was as though a trumpet had sounded revelry to call forth an army of cockroaches intent on sharing our meals with them. Each of us was able to eat about a third of our meal before they came from the ceiling, from under the wood trim at the column, and even from inside the blender. Situations such as these evidence a failure in care on many levels, including the county health department.

My girlfriend and I planned a day ride to Indiana and decided to visit El Tesoro. The menu looked fantastic, but we felt that the food wasn't in line with what we expected. The beans were dry, the beef was bland ground beef, the flavors didn't seem to make the mark of the authenticity we might have thought to find here. Things just didn't hit right based on the volumes of positive reviews. The food seemed lazy and uninspired. Service was great, and prices were reasonable for the food you get. I think El Tesoro has potential, but I probably won't follow up to see if things get better because of the distance.

We used to love this place but I will never be back. We ordered takeout from here and when we received it it was absolutely disgusting. Everything was ice cold, the tortillas were so stale we could barely chew them, the steak burrito was full of disgusting fatty pieces and the chicken was so tough and old tasting. We ended up throwing it away and ordering something else. Take a look at the pictures and explain to me how that looks AT ALL appetizing. Very disappointed, absolute waste of money

Sea food burrito it was amazing. No long wait. Margarita 🍹 had real strawberry in it. Coming back again. Red Bowl Fajita was a good choice, my wife said.

This is the best Mexican food I've had since I left Arizona six years ago!!! Ordered the California burrito and wife ordered the chili relleno and not only was the food out in just 10 minutes, it's the best Mexican we found in Pennsylvania! Staff was on top of anything and everything we needed.
