We've wanted to visit for a while but they are closed for a few hours in the afternoon between lunch and dinner. Luckily it finally worked out and we ate here on Saturday. Steph was great, prompt, professional and helpful. Seating outside was great, the beers were cold and the food was good. We both had salads which were fresh and flavorful.
First time visiting here! We had the Pittsburgh steak salad and chicken bruschetta panini. Everything was wonderful and delicious, we didn't have long of a wait either for our food to come out. They offer inside and outside seating which was also nice. Glad we decided to try here on a whim, it was worth it!
Went there for lunch on a Saturday. The kitchen closes at 1:30 but we got the order in by that time and they were fine with us taking our time to eat. We had the sweet potato kale salad that was wonderful. What a pleasant surprise. I also had an maple old-fashioned drink, which was very good. The service was wonderful.
Stopped for lunch. Waited 10 mins for someone to seat us. After ordering food we waited close to an hour for food to arrive. Nothing, complicated 4 sandwiches. There were maybe 6 tables filled so it was not overly crowded. Our server was very nice and apologetic for the delay. I have a feeling she may have been the cook too. Sandwiches were just okay and nothing special, definitely not worth $76. I have heard wonderful things about Benjamin's and may try for dinner but definitely won't return for lunch.
We have been coming to Benjamin’s for many years for birthdays, anniversaries, and even my father’s 98th birthday celebration. Tonight we came to celebrate our anniversary and we had a gift card from our son and daughter-in-law. When the bill came, we presented the gift card (knowing that the total was going to be more than the gift card amount). The server was unsure if the owner would honor it because it had been five years since it had been given. We were surprised. Evidently ownership of Benjamin’s had changed since we had been there. We had been keeping the gift card for a special occasion. The server(who was very good) came back to say that the owner would honor half the amount of the gift card. Really?! We paid the balance of the bill and left, perhaps never to return.
