If I could give this shop 10 stars I would! To say this place is a huge blessing to my family is an understatement. A few years back one of the parts on our older Amana furnace stopped working, which caused the whole furnace not to kick on and we had no heat in the middle of winter. Had a new baby, and my husband lost his job right then too, due to downsizing. We were desperate. We called around to several local heating businesses and none would help us in a reasonable time, and all wanted an outrageous price to just come look, with no reassurance they'd have the parts to fix it. My husband walked into Shank's Specialty Supply and spoke with the man there. He sold us the part we needed, which was inexpensive, and he told my husband step-by-step how to replace the part ourselves. And so we had heat again. He was so nice back then, and we were just so grateful. Today our furnace went out. My home is 40 degrees. I called around to no less than 20 furnace service businesses in the Indiana area. Every single one of them told me they couldn't see me today (even though its an emergency). Some told me they would get back to me in months. Some told me they weren't taking new customers. So here I am desperate again to get my heat back on, and no one is even willing to come have a look. I called back in to Shank's Specialty Supply hoping they could help. Sure enough, Denny came out to our home and was finished with 90 minutes. He got the furnace back on with little problems, and checked over everything well. I spent hours calling so many others with no help. When Denny told me he could be there in no time, I just cried happy tears. I'm so glad for people who genuinely care! Thank you, God, for Denny Shank! I'd trust him and his work beyond anybody. And he's the kindest soul in his line of work. I'll recommend his business every single time.

We had to replace a broken shower handle in our house today, and these guys got us what we needed, and explained how everything would go back together. 15 mins after getting back home, we had a working shower again! I will be recommending Shank's to everyone for their plumbing needs!

This is a very bad company I will never again let them in my home. The repairman did not look or act professional and was definitely not knowledgeable about furnaces. He showed up here with barely any tools and didn't have all the parts that he needed for a simple furnace cleaning. I had to get a bucket , ladder and light for him to do his job. He was trying to work on my furnace with his cell phone flashlight. He spelt about a quart of kerosene in our hallway. It's been weeks now and it still smells like kerosene. It's going to cost me several hundreds of dollars to pull up the floor now to get the smell out. He also banged into our wall and scratched our floor. After all that and much more. The job was not completed. We never did get the carbon monoxide test. And then they had the audacity to overcharge us $40. Not to mention that they lied about how long they were here.

The repairman was definitely not a professional. He did damage to my home and then had the nerve to overcharge me. These people will never come into my home again.

They are a knowledgeable group and do good work. It is a family run operation and they take pride in what they do.
