Absolutely awful condition. Grew up playing here when it was actually maintained. It was $75 for burned out fairways, atrocious dirt tee boxes and poorly maintained greens. Shame on you Toms run management for charging people full price for that garbage. My friends and I will not be back.
This is a gorgeous golf course in Blairsville, PA, in the Laurel Highlands. The views of the hills are very scenic, and the course has lots of variety of holes. It's also challenging and provides difficulty to all skill levels, especially the front 9. A couple of things to note are that, unfortunately, this course is not in the greatest shape ever. Some holes have what looks like burn't fairways grass for the tee boxes, and others have good-sized brown patches on the fairway. Maintenance on this course absolutely needs to happen, and although it has been a ridiculously dry summer, it seems that a lack of upkeep on this course is generally prevalent. This course is so great that you can kind of overlook it to some extent, but just be aware that if you are expecting flawlessly maintained conditions, you will be disappointed. That said, this course is absolutely worth experiencing, and it was a great time.
Very will maintained course. Fairways, greens and tee boxes were in great shape. The views are beautiful. Mosts holes were tree lined. Grass driving range a plus. Pace was good. Starter was very friendly and got us out 10 minutes early. Definitely worth the value. Only issue was the bunkers were rock hard and need to be restored.
played here once a year for last 5…. course layout, greens, tees are generally in very good shape and enjoyable. the bunkers are awful… rocks, no to very little sand… befitting a “dog track” type course u might find in middle of nowhere. really drags down enjoyment level of course when bunker are mostly dirt & rocks….sad that they’ve done nothing to address this. would suggest going somewhere else until “the problem ” is addressed.
Had the opportunity to play here (Tom’s Run) May 2nd 2021 and the course was in great shape. Some of the bunkers were a little messy but it happens most of them were in good shape. The fairways were fantastic. The greens rolled true and had good speed. The course is fairly open other than 3 hole stretch on the front. White tees played like 6200 yards so not overly long but it made up for the short distance with bunker placement around the greens and pin locations. Overall I would recommend making the trip and playing here or stopping by on your way to Pittsburgh or wherever.
